Plan 2885
The focus on this sustainable design is its impressive open concept two-story living area, which is composed of an exposed concrete tilt-wall encasement. A commercial-grade web joist system provides a clear span roof without any need for intermediate support. The remaining structure can be built with conventional wood framing construction or preferably from insulated concrete forms (ICF). In the case of the later, interior walls can be of non-load bearing metal gauge studs, making it more resilient to wood infestation and fire.

Plan FLW2500
Those who are admirers of the work of Frank Lloyd Wright, regarded as the World's most famous architect, should appreciate this organic design. While Mid-Century Modern is noted for its simplicity and letting the outdoors in, the genre is not noted for its energy efficiency. However, this one changess those rules, being designed with the thought of using a S.I.P. (structural insulated panel) system, enhancing its R-value to an estimated 50, compared to the industry standard of R-19.
This concept has all the ambience of a true Post War Wright masterpiece, yet has the added benefit of all the modern amenities. The living area, as well as secondary bedrooms, have direct access to seperate private courtyards. The reatr patio is complete with a full outdoor kitchen and acess to a cabana bath, which also serves as the guest bath. The Master includes a spacious En Suite with a soaker tub and oversized shower, in additon a large walk-in closet. It's like having your ckae and eating it too.

About
All architecture is shelter, all great architecture is the design of space that contains, cuddles, exalts, or stimulates the persons in that space.

Established in 1987, UDC has made its mission to strive for uniqueness as well as practicality, while keeping cost of construction into account. In 2014, a commitment was made to focus more towards sustainable 'environmentally friendly' architecture, This school of thought meets both Energy Star and Leeds Certification, and is enhanced by the use of innovative framing methods, such as SIP (structural insulated panels) and ICF (insulation concrete forms). Using these innovative types of wall construction can enhance structural integrity, making it more resilient to storms or the potential of fire.
Our designs are far more energy efficient, and can be adopted to either active or passive solar. Wall insulation can achieve an efficiency rating of R-49 and above. With that rating, HVAC systems become more supplemental, so the preferred units are split-systems, which are slowly becoming more acceptable in mainstream new construction and retrofits.
All of our plans are cad generated using the latest in BIM 3D modeling. In addition to full construction documentation, we offer still and walk-through video presentations. In addition, this technology can automatically produce takeoff schedules, calculating liner feet of materials and related labor costs, as well as all kitchen appliances and electrical and plumbing fixtures.
Whether it’s urban, rural or leisure, we provide. Our in-house catalog consists of plans ranging from 2,000 s.f. to over 3,000 s.f. While we mostly offer plans focused towards affordability, we can, and do have designs that are totally left of center,
Our motto is “If it can be conceived, it can be designed and built”.
